Iconic Plywood armchair designed by Norman Cherner.
Manufactured by Plycraft, USA between 1958 and 1961.
Seat made of plywood with teak veneer, legs and armrests made of solid beech wood.
When Cherner first submitted his design to Plycraft he was told that the chair would not be produced. A few years later in 1961 Cherner discovered his design for sale in a showroom in New York and being credited to a fictitious designer named ’Bernando’. He sued Plycraft and won the case.
This chair is marked with a sticker that mentions the correct Designer, Norman Cherner, so it has been produced after 1961.
