DAX Armchair by Charles & Ray Eames for Zenith Plastics, 1950s
DAX armchair in yellow / parchment colour by Charles and Ray Eames.
Original dining height X-base (original finish).
This second generation armchair manufactured by Zenith Plastic Co. between 1953 and 1957. It is recognisable by the bigger rubber shock mounts, but without the rope edge.
The chair is very fibrous, typical for these early shells.
